What is the Ijen health screening you mention?

BBKSDA Jawa Timur circular SE.1658/KSA.9/2024 requires Kawah Ijen visitors to present a clinic-issued certificate confirming blood pressure and SpO₂ are within safe limits before crater entry. JVTO coordinates the screening with Dr. Ahmad Irwandanu at Klinik Bakti Husada, Bondowoso — his licence is publicly verifiable on satusehat.kemkes.go.id.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Cancel the complete booking 48 hours or more before Day 1: you receive Lifetime Package Credit. It never expires and preserves the same package, original pax entitlement, and original confirmed price, and can be transferred once. Package Credit is not cash and cannot be exchanged for cash. Cancel the complete booking less than 48 hours before Day 1: the booking is forfeited and no Package Credit is created. If one or more travellers cancel but the tour continues, the cancelled travellers receive a cash refund of their confirmed price: 100% at 48 hours or more before Day 1, 50% within 48 hours, and 0% after Day 1. Frequently Asked Questions about Ijen Requirements

Do I need a health certificate for Ijen?

Yes. A recent local health certificate is mandatory for every guest under BBKSDA Surat Edaran SE.1658/KSA.9/2024. JVTO coordinates the clinic workflow — conducted by licensed medical staff (Dr. Ahmad Irwandanu, SIP) — so there is nothing for you to arrange separately. The certificate is checked at the crater access gate; without a valid health certificate, the crater zone is not accessible that day.

Can children hike Ijen Crater?

No. Children under 10 years old are not permitted into the Ijen crater zone under BBKSDA safety guidance, primarily due to sulfur gas exposure risk.

Book with Confidence

Large group?

For groups of approximately 18 guests or more, JVTO can help coordinate an official Traffic Police (Ditlantas) escort — approval is not guaranteed and depends on the relevant unit.
