Departure hub · Bali
Private East Java packages with the Bali–Java ferry crossing included. Kawah Ijen, Mount Bromo, Tumpak Sewu & Papuma Beach — your own vehicle, your own crew.
§ 01
Every JVTO Bali package is 100% private — your group, your vehicle, your schedule. The Bali–Java ferry crossing (Gilimanuk–Ketapang) is included in every package. Mr. Sam, the founder, is an active officer of the Indonesian Tourist Police (Ditpamobvit East Java): every route, safety decision, and written rule traces back to someone who answers to police protocol.
Every Bali package crosses from Bali to East Java by ferry on Day 1. Most packages finish in Surabaya (one-way overland); the Bali-return option brings you back across the ferry. Pick-up is from your Bali hotel or address — Ubud, Seminyak, Canggu, or Lovina.
End-point note.
Most Bali packages finish in Surabaya — plan your onward transport from Surabaya (flights, train, or bus) in advance. Only the Bali-return option brings you back across the ferry; each package page states its end point.
§ 02
All packages include a dedicated vehicle, English-speaking crew, the Gilimanuk–Ketapang ferry, entrance fees, accommodation + breakfast, gas masks + trekking poles (Ijen), mineral water, and a JVTO T-shirt. Price is per person — no hidden local payments.

§ 07
Surabaya is the default starting point — direct overland access to Bromo (~3 hrs) and Ijen (~5 hrs) with no ferry. Bali departures add the Gilimanuk–Ketapang ferry (45 min each way) plus 1–2 extra hours overland; choose Bali only if you are already vacationing there. Both options run on JVTO private vehicles with no shared transport at any point.
Bromo-only tours are the 1D1N and 2D1N formats — no health screening required. Ijen tours start at 2D1N and trigger the BBKSDA SE.1658/KSA.9/2024 health screening protocol coordinated by JVTO with Dr. Ahmad Irwandanu (Klinik Bakti Husada). The 3D2N and longer routes typically combine both volcanoes plus Madakaripura or Tumpak Sewu waterfalls.
Shortest: the single-day Bromo sunrise format — midnight pickup, return the same evening. Longest: the full East Java circuit covering Ijen, Papuma Beach, Tumpak Sewu, Bromo and Malang. The 3D2N format is the most-booked balance of coverage and pace; 4D3N adds either rest time or a waterfall extension. Current durations and departure dates are listed on the tour cards on this page.
